“Can't Miss Breakfast At Freshies”
Whenever we visit Steamboat Springs, we have to have breakfast at Freshies. There is something about eating a hearty breakfast outside on the patio. Their breakfast selections are sure to satisfy even the heartiest appetite. We love eating outside near the fire pit. You will often see the locals outside with their dogs sitting next to them. This is the only restaurant to start your day in Steamboat.
“Great Food and Menu”
I was surprised the previous reviews weren't great- we just had a fantastic lunch and will definitely go back. Staying at the Hampton Inn right next door, the place was packed both inside and out on a typical busy weekend in a major resort town. We were seated at the counter section which was fine and we were in a hurry. The combo dish of 1/2 sandwich and salad did the trick- best Reuben I've had in awhile and the Greek salad was the best ever...100 times better than Panera Bread's and their's is good too. Food was delivered quickly even though the place was packed, and prices were normal. Yes, it is loud, but what else would you expect at a busy restaurant? Wait staff perfect and not fake, a great place for lunch!
“Cinnamon Rolls To Die For”
Had a great, healthy, fresh lunch but then was totally unable to resist the cinnamon roll (4 of us split it). Was so good that I want to go back to SBS just for Freshie's. If you get a chance to stop there for breakfast or lunch, do it--you will be happy you did.
“Fantastic Breakfast Menu And They Opened at 7am”
While we were in Steamboat Springs for the weekend, we tried several different restaurants. My husband liked the homemade breakfast at Freshies. While I didn't have the opportunity to eat as well as he did, I had to have my morning whey protein shake with strawberries. It was better than what I have at home. You should see their "famous cinnamon rolls". They are just as big as a dinner plate. Yes, I would definitely go back and eat at Freshies....
“Yummy... And Healthy!”
I was trying to eat as healthy as my boyfriend does on this trip to Colorado. Freshies made it easy being near the Sheraton Steamboat Springs.... and it was way yummy! We had the daily special soup and wrap, but the whole menu had great healthy stuff on it for breakfast and lunch. It was a clean and friendly place near the road to Fish Creek Falls and the Botanical Park. The staff treated us well and though we chose to sit indoors... it had and outdoorsy feel. Reasonably priced as well. I found it on skitownrestaurants.com which was a great site with menus, so you can plan ahead.
“Where The Locals Go”
When we're in Steamboat we like to go to Freshies for a delicious breakfast or lunch. The name is descriptive of the excellent ingredients they use, and visitors will see plenty of locals eating at this restaurant, with its fantastic food and good value. My personal favorite is the Jen's Chicken Salad for lunch, but they have a full range of entrées to fit every taste. Delicious, and right between town and the ski mountain.
“Freshies Has Excellent And Unusual Food... Best In Steamboat.”
Freshies food is so good we ate there two days in a row in lieu of trying another of the many restaurants in Steamboat Springs. We've eaten at many other places, but found that Freshies had the most diverse menu, freshest food, best value for the money... Obviously, others feel the same way, as it is very crowded during the peak meal times.

“Love the name, love the super- friendly staff ”
Love the name, love the super- friendly staff at this sometimes chaotic but always efficient spot, which serves breakfast and lunch only but does both beautifully. Using fresh, mostly organic and local-when-available ingredients, the kitchen sends out light, perfectly cooked omelettes, piled-high sandwiches, daily soups, inventive salads and well-brewed organic coffee.
“My personal favorite”
The thick sandwiches, hearty salads, and fresh pastries of Freshies draw crowds at both breakfast and lunch. The Avocado Griller, featuring creamy slices of avocado, caramelized onion, and aged white cheddar on grilled sourdough is my personal favorite. Freshies pleasant outdoor patio and firepit make it a hangout place for locals lingering over their meals.
“Philly cheesesteak at Freshies in Steamboat Springs”
Warm fresh baguette stuffed with piles of sautéed beef and onions and peppers, all drenched in melted provolone cheese. Steam rising from the sandwich as it arrives to the table with the glorious scents wafting to your nose enticing your taste buds for that first bite. Never having eaten a cheese steak from Philadelphia this is what one imagines it to be like, mounds of tender beef seasoned perfectly that oozes cheese in the corner of your mouth that you would rather use your tongue than a napkin to wipe it off. The mushrooms, onions and peppers add big bold flavors throughout the cheese steak creating a complexity over your palate. The juice from the meat soaking into the bread allowing the crust to seal in all those flavors, as you press the gigantic sandwich flat to be able to wrap your jaws around it.
“Clearly a locals' favorite”
Freshies is a wonderful, locally-owned breakfast and lunch restaurant. It is clearly a locals' favorite and is also very popular among visitors. The menu is very diverse, offering delicious food for everyone (including vegetarians and vegans)! From their selection of breakfast scramblers to their homemade granola to their delightful soups, salads and sandwiches, nothing on their menu falls short of excellent in taste and quality. The staff is the best in town and never anything but friendly. This is definitely a must-eat. Enjoy!
